Walnut is a fruit of which there are ancient testimonies; it seems to come from Asia and was introduced to Italy by the Greeks. Vitamins contain A, B1, B6, F, C and P; finally they are very rich in polyunsaturated fats that help fight LDL, better known as "bad" cholesterol.

Thanks to the presence of alpha-linoleic acid, they also have digestive and diuretic properties. Vitamin E, characterized by strong antioxidant properties, is able to control the dangerous effects of free radicals so feared. Also relevant is the presence of an essential amino acid, called arginine,very important for the health of our arteries; in fact,arginine provides the walls of the arteries with nitroxide,a substance capable of combating and preventing arteriosclerosis. Several studies have also shown that regular nut consumption would greatly reduce the risk of developing coronary heart disease.
