Italian Chestnut Honey
Very aromatic flavor
The honey that is obtained from chestnut flowers has a dark amber color and a very aromatic, slightly bitter taste. Its virtues are manifold: it contains a high amount of mineral salts, especially iron, and is used to counteract anemia, soothe menstrual pain, prevent and treat ulcers. Not being too sugary, it lends itself to accompany both sweet and savory dishes.
Crystallization affects almost all varieties of honey, except chestnut and acacia varieties that tend to remain liquid due to their composition. It is a natural and inevitable process for the maintenance of enzymes and vitamins and that demonstrates the absolute quality of the product. Crystallized honeys can be easily softened in a bain-marie.
